disneyland {where dreams come true}

Our walk to disneyland was full of,

“WHY??? aren’t we there yet?”

and

“NO!!! this isn’t the way to disneyland!”

and

kids tripping,

kids falling,

writing our phone number on the kids bellies, just in case…

and just a couple (really!) of photos of the birthday girl.

Can you tell how much she loves to be in front of the camera?

But we did get there, eventually.  It really was a short walk from our hotel (about 10 minutes without kids, 25 with kids, LOL).

You would think I was torturing this girl by asking to snap one photo by the Mickey Mouse flowers, geesh!

Are we having fun yet?

I LOOOOOVE THIS BOY!  And he LOVED his ride on the teacup, our first ride at Disneyland.

Everyone had loads of fun and this little guy didn’t even make it back to the car before he was completely out.

The other two followed suit shortly after getting in the car.

if you’ve made it this far….

why not take a moment to leave a comment?

I love to hear from those who visit my blog!

Thanks for stopping by!

5 years old

5 years ago I became a mom and welcomed a beautiful little girl into the world.

Today that girl turned 5!  She woke up this morning to find a bunch of balloons floating above her bed.  I figured this would mean an even earlier wake up call for me and Nathan, and I was right.

Was it worth it?

YES!

I have a big smile on my face just thinking about her reaction.

It’s been almost 2 hours and she still has a strong grip on her bouquet of balloons.

“I like my birthday!” she told us. :)

And we haven’t even had cake or presents yet.

Savannah was holding her balloons and I exclaimed, “WoW!  Look how BIG you are!  You are so big!”  You see, she’s been thinking that when she turns 5 she is going to be as big as her mama.  Five IS  a very big number, afer all.  When she wants a lot of something (grapes, pennies, etc) she asks for FIVE.  After I noticed out loud how big she was now, her eyes got real big and she looked down at herself, holding her little skirt of her ballerina suit out and tipping her toe at the same time.  Then she looked at me and smiled her big smile, saying now she’s bigger then me!  Of course she was standing on the bed and I was stil laying down, so she really was much bigger then me, right?

Scarlett loved the balloons too and because this is real life that I’m capturing here, you get to see her amazing talent at blowing bubbles.

Baby Whispers

I’ve found that all my babies love when I whisper in their ear.  It doesn’t matter what I say, just that it comes in whispers.  It can be “sssspp, ssspp, ssspp” or  “Do you know what a baby cow says?”  What ever it is, they always stop what they are doing and are suddenly very quiet so they can hear what mama is whispering to them.  I especially love using this trick when one of them is fussing and needs to be distracted.  It (generally) works like a charm! Today I was at this fountain and put Scarlett in the lap of Fountain Girl.  Savannah and William each had their turn in Fountain girls laps when they were around this same age.  I guess it has become a family ritual.  After I sat Scarlett on Fountain Girl’s lap, she leaned her ear into Fountain Girl’s face as though the girl was going to whisper something into her ear.  As you can see from the photos, Scarlett was not impressed that this girl did not know how to whisper.   Or maybe Scarlett just doesn’t know how to listen?  Whatever the case, Scarlett didn’t like what she heard (or didn’t hear).

Then Scarletts friend Aayla showed up to play.  I just love her little onesie!  Turns out she was dedicated at church in this very onesie.  That’s the way their family rolls, which is another reason I love them so much. :)  They dance to the beat of their own drum.

Time for some another outfit change!  The girls had matching Carter’s outfits and we couldn’t resist getting some matchy matchy photos.  Mom’s of boys….do you do this sort of thing with your son and his friends?  I didn’t think so.  I think it’s a girl thing, LOL.

Heeeeeere comes trouble! :)

Just look at these chubba chubba legs!  I love my baby’s legs!

These two girls LOVE to climb!

Aayla: “I’m going for a swim!”

Scarlett: “Let me know how cold it is.”

Scarlett: “Okay, but just my toes.”

Aayla:  “Ohhhh, come on!  That’s no fun.  If we are quick, you know we can get in before our mom’s catch us!”

Aayla:  “I’ll distract them while you climb over first!”

Scarlett:  “Why do I always have to be first?”

The Underwood Family Farm

March 1st is one of our favorite times of year because it means: strawberry picking, animal feeding, pony riding and much more!  There is so much fun to be had at the Underwood Family Farm.

We only had 15 minutes to play there today before they closed, so we ran around showing Scarlett all the animals.  She LOVED it!  You’ll see in the photos that her mouth is puckered up in nearly every single one.  This is because she is trying to imitate the noises of the animals.  How cute she is!
